Privacy Policy
Tachlis · last updated 22 July 2026
Tachlis does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. Everything you enter stays on your own device.
What the app stores
The following are saved locally on your device, in your browser's storage or the app's local storage, and nowhere else:
- Your date of birth, and optionally birth time and city, used only to calculate your Hebrew date and chart on your device
- Your Cheshbon HaNefesh journal entries and self-assessment scores
- Your 40-day practices and which days you marked complete
- Your vision boards and pinned quotes
- Preferences such as dark mode and reminder time
What we do not do
- We do not have accounts, logins, or user profiles
- We do not run analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs
- We do not transmit your journal, birth details, or any other content anywhere
- We cannot read your data — it never reaches us, so there is nothing for us to see, sell, or lose
Notifications
If you switch on the daily reminder, the notification is scheduled entirely on your device. No reminder data is sent anywhere. You can turn it off in the app or in your device settings.
Network requests
The web version loads fonts from Google Fonts on first use, which involves a request to Google's servers. No personal data is included in that request. The installed app bundles its own assets and can run fully offline.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app, or clearing your browser's site data, permanently erases everything. Because nothing is stored on a server, deletion is immediate and complete, and we hold no copy or backup. For the same reason, data cannot be recovered once removed.
Children
Tachlis is a personal reflection and Torah-study tool intended for general audiences. It collects no data and contains no user-to-user communication, purchases, or advertising.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date.
